Background & Experience
If it’s a major motorsports event, chances are Ryan Myrehn has covered it. Since 2016, Ryan has been crisscrossing the globe chasing the stories that make auto racing go. In that time he has covered events as diverse as the Indianapolis 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans, NASCAR’s Brickyard 400, Formula E, 24 Hours of Spa, Long Beach Grand Prix, Lamborghini World Final, and dozens more.
Ryan currently works as a pit lane reporter for IndyCar Radio, lead commentator for the SRO Motorsports Group’s television coverage, and acts as an announcer and presenter for the Amazon Web Services DeepRacer League. He also moonlights on the Performance Racing Network’s coverage of NASCAR’s stop in Indianapolis, and has spent time in the booth calling the action at the prestigious SCCA Runoffs national championships. For several years, Ryan contributed to Sportscar365.com and both hosted and produced the site’s long-running weekly podcast “Double Stint”. During the motorsports off season, Ryan sometimes returns to his roots calling play-by-play for some of Indianapolis’ local high school and college sports teams, and can also be seen serving as the sideline reporter for the IHSAA Champions Network television broadcasts.
Ryan received a Bachelor Degree in Communications from Greencastle, Indiana’s DePauw University. While there, he worked as a DJ and host on the university’s radio station. After completing his education, Ryan worked as a sports broadcaster for several years at radio stations in both Missouri and Michigan covering professional, college, and high school sports. Along the way he served as the track announcer at Randolph County Raceway in Missouri and Sands Speedway in Michigan. In 2016 Ryan relocated to his home town of Indianapolis where he lives with his wife Audrey and his sons Rupert and Maurice.
